Hydro Appreciation Campaign Resonates with The Public

With an estimated reach of over 250,000 people, the Foundation for Water and Energy Education (FWEE) completed a November digital media campaign focused on the future of power generation in the Northwest.

One 30-second video took a playful approach to hydropower’s role in providing the Northwest over 50% of its electricity with a clean, renewable, affordable, and reliable resource. A second 30-second video looked at the role hydropower and other renewables play in meeting goals for a carbon-free future. Click here to view.

Said Sheila Corson, FWEE President and Okanogan PUD Public Relations Coordinator, “Northwest power generation has the smallest carbon footprint in the nation because of hydropower. At the same time, we’re building out and integrating other sources of renewable energy such as wind and solar.”

FWEE believes it’s in everyone’s interest to seek both public recognition of what’s good and public engagement about what’s next.
