Green Peter Dam is a concrete structure with a gated spillway that was completed with Foster Dam in 1968 at a cost of $82.3 million. In coordination with Foster, the two dams work together for the purposes of flood risk management, hydropower, water quality improvement, irrigation, fish and wildlife habitat and recreation.
