Columbia River Basin dam managers to adapt to warmer weather

Temperatures in the Columbia River Basin have risen 2 degrees in the past hundred years and could climb another 6 to 7 degrees this century, according to a west-wide report on the impact of climate change by the federal Bureau of Reclamation.

“The warming is already noticeable and that’s just expected to continue in the future,” said Toni Turner, a hydraulic engineer for the bureau’s Northwest Regional office of reservoir operations. Read More
